Sherwood (Woody) Walls has worked in the insurance industry for the past 41 years. He joined Walls, Heiss & Walls Insurance Agency in 1972, and he bought out his father’s partnership in 1976.
He is a graduate of Hamilton College and received his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador from 1964 to 1966, and served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 as a district senior advisor employed by the US Agency for International Development.
He is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of NY and a past president and director of the local association; also a Past member of Professional Insurance Agents of NY; a member and former director of Broome County YMCA and Binghamton Rotary Club; a member and past director of the Binghamton Club.
Woody is married to the former Anne Normile, and they have two sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren. His leisure activities include snow skiing, hiking/camping, and tennis.

Steven W. Cobb
Steven W. Cobb came to the Walls Insurance Agency from the Liberty Mutual Group where he was recognized as a top agent in Auto, Home and Life Insurance. In 2007 he earned the distinguished Lamplighter Award which signified excellence in protecting his clients through Life Insurance. Before entering the insurance industry, Steve earned his degree in Communications and entered the family imprinted apparel business where he was the VP of Sales and Marketing and within a few short years Steve was able to increase revenue and profitability by putting the emphasis back on excellent client relationships. Steve then joined an international franchising company where he traveled around the country training new business owners on how to build and run a successful business.
Steve has been an independent insurance agent and broker with Walls Insurance since 2008 – focusing on auto, home, business and life insurance with a focus in habitational and student rental properties.
